Pilkington praises Napoleon for the strictness he uses to keep his people obedient. Pinchfield Farm showed up to the meeting with Napoleon where Animal Farm was renamed Manor Farm. Napoleon pits Pilkington against Frederick but this backfires, as when Pinchfield Farm invades, Foxwood refuses to aid the animals. Foxwood Farm was the first to offer to take Napoleon's surplus of wood but Pinchfield Farm acted quicker. After the revolution, the two came on better terms, because of mutual hatred for Animal Farm, although they refused to recognize it as a sovereign state. Luckily, Manor Farm was a buffer between the two aggressive farms. Pilkington, the farm's greedy ruler, later spawned a rivalry with Pinchfield Farm and the equally imperialistic Mr. Foxwood Farm was founded sometime after Manor Farm.
